Is it also a good idea to do this if you live in a trailer/moble home?

  1. No way that would work.  Even if that happened, one would likely be drawn into the tornadic circulation, which would be bad news.  Most movies that depict tornadoes show the winds blowing away from the tornado.  This is not the way it happens.  Tornadoes have what are known as inflow jets, where narrow channels of strong winds blow into the tornadic circulation.

If you live in a trailer or mobile home, get out and to a better, more reinforced shelter, preferably when the weather begins to become threatening, since you may not have time once a tornado approaches.

  2. what would the kites do besides get ripped off by the high winds?

  3. no, most tornados can pick up houses......and a moble/trailer is one of the WORST places 2 be when a tornado comes
