I thought I saw it in Southern Oregon a few years back, but am not sure if that was it or not.

  1. it probably is possible to see the northern lights in other places, but i think that the farther north u r, the more of a possibility it is to see them.

  2. My Uncle in Minnesota has seen them.  So, yes, it is possible.  I think your chances are greater the farther North you are.

  3. The more northerly in latitude you are, the better your chances.  They have been seen even over the southern U.S., but only quite rarely, in association with the strongest of solar storms.

  4. It is rare, but yes you can see it in the continental United States from time to time.

  5. Sure, I've seen them here in Minnesota, not frequently, but occasionally. I don't doubt that it's possible to see them in Oregon on occasion; they have even been reported as far south as Singapore.
