  1. I don't think so. Things are expensive. $1000 is a very small amount.

    A very small scale farming may be possible if you already own land and sheds. If you are planning to keep animals like cows / buffaloes then even small scale is not possible in this amount.

If you are a native of that country, then yes, $1000 can be a lot of money and can get you started on a small scale.  If you are an American and thinking to move to a third world country and set up a livestock operation, you'll have to save up a lot more money than $1000.  If that is all you have to invest you would just waste your money.  Been there, done that.

  3. Absolutely, but better look at the long term stability, both past and present, to include crime issues and religious issues (in some places it is worse to be an atheist than to have religion). Look also at what a country requires for immigration fees and minimum monetary in hand monies. Some countries require a solid amount of capital to be brought into the country. Some will not allow you holdings without citizenship or unless you marry.
