Is it possible to smooth self leveling concrete with a trowel or other leveling device if someone steps in it?

scrape the high parts and pour some more.

A 2x4 would work too.  Just line the board up with the undamaged part, and then drag it across the smushed area level with the undamaged section.  Using a trowel to fill in the ruined part and then using the wood plank should fix it unless it's very dry at this point.
