Is it possible to spot and have a normal progesterone level?

I usually spot 5-7 days before my period. My blood test showed that I had a very low progesterone level of 4.5 last cycle so my doc put me on 50mg of Clomid to help me ovulate. I know for sure I ovulated this cycle because I got a positive on my OPK, ovulation cramps a few hours later, and a substantial thermal shift two days after and my temps have stayed high. My doc even said the signs are all there. However, the problem is that my spotting has started up again! I am due for my period next week! I have another blood test on Tues to check my levels. Is it possible to have normal progesterone and still have premenstrual spotting? Will this affect my TTC chances? Please help me!

  1. You could ask for progesterone supplements. Progesterone of 4.5 will not sustain pregnancy.
