There are a number of chemicals which will either cause secretion of endogenous catecholamines or prevent breakdown of the catecholamines.  These substances include epinephrine, amphetamines and metamphetamines, cocaine, isoproterenol, ephedrine and mephentermine.  These are all CNS stimulation.  By contrast, norepinephrine and phenylephrine cause no CNS stimulation.  

MDA and certain other hallucinogens cause mild activation of the adrenergic system, but their effects are so overpowered by the hallucinogenic effect that you may not notice.
