Is it possible to start your own country?

I mean if you bought an island (a big one) with a group of investors and declared yourself an independent nation?

Absolutely. But be aware, buying an island does not make you the government of it. The existing government will have a thing or two to say about it.

You can't do this. It's simple.

Today all the places on earth belong to a country. Even if you buy a place (island for instance) it's only a property of yours but it is still part of the country. It's like our houses and extents of ground...they are our properties but they are part of a country.

So you can't do this.

Also there are many other "technical" problems...

The only problem I see is finding an island that is not already claimed by some other nation, in which case you would need to be able to defend yourself, should they decide to kill you for your impertinence....
