Is it possible to still play a wind instrument with a lip ring?

I play the saxophone and i want to get my lip pierced but if i can't play my instrument with a piercing in place then i'd rather not do it.

I play the clarinet and I take off my lip ring when I'm playing. But if you get it, you would probably have to wait a month or two for it to heal.

I suggest wearing a labret or a retainer for the first months, then changing to a hoop so you'll be able to take it off when you play your instrument and not have to worry about it closing up.
