  1. "Stopping world hunger" (an idea that's been bouncing around for at least the last five decades) is TOTALLY unrelated to money as IT'S A POLITICAL PROBLEM.

Everywhere you see people not getting enough to eat they are living under a regime that is not even coming close to serving their most basic needs. This doesn't just mean gangsters like Mugabe, Saddam, et al. either: Niger has had problems with hungry people and it was simply due to a lack of foresight on the part of the government.

So, yes, money is useful in alleviating hunger but it's the political aspect that is critical in ALLOWING the conditions to exist that will enable people to feed themselves.

And until that time arrives it would be nice if some of these regimes would simply ALLOW the food ALREADY DONATED by the world's most well-off nations to be DELIVERED to the hungry. Sadly, even that continues to be a severe problem.

  2. yes, but there is not desire.

  3. Giving poor people free food only makes things worse. The farmers that would have otherwise fed those people have no where to sell their food and go broke, lose the farm and the future food it would have provided.

Investing in jobs and buying goods they have will go further than giving people stuff.

  4. Not so much, really.  But it`s not going to happen because there doesn`t seem to be much interest.http://borgenproject.org

  5. Freedom is the cure for poverty. No amount of money can cure this blight.

I could go on and on why we have so much poverty in the world. The democrats and republicans do not speak the truth when they address it, nor do most organizations.

  6. As long as the dictators in so many countries keep the aid money instead of feeding their poor, world hunger will continue.  Money isn't the issue, it's concern on the part of the governments of the world.
