Question:

Is it possible to study at home for courses such as plumbing and electrical fitting?

i have recently finished school but am now ill and unable to get out of the house for a while, i was just wondering if i could study at home for these couses and just go on a crash course or something once i am fit and able. i dont just meen these two courses but they are what i would be most interested in douing. cheers

I'm sorry that you are ill at the moment.  I'm not sure if there are accredited (by the plumbing industry) 'online schools' or correspondence schools.  Penn foster is a correspondence school but not sure if employers find it reputable.  How about calling some companies that may employ plumbers and pipe fitting and ask them if they hire people from that school.  It is supposed to be quite a physical job though.  Perhaps you should wait and see if you are physically able to do the tasks of either job.  I would think, however, that one would need hands-on training in those fields.  And there are unions to apply for an apprenticeship when you are able to get around better.  Wishing you a speedy recovery!
