Is it possible to submit a photo to a website and search for that photo on the internet?

i have several photos i would like to see if i can find where they came from. i figured this is possible but dont know where to look. thanks!

Get a free account with a site like Flickr (belongs to Yahoo), give each of your pictures a descriptive name, if it is a plant, use the latin name for it and also tag those pictures = add catch words. Webcrawlers are constantly checking websites and index them, so when you go to Google or Yahoo image search after a couple of days, you should find your pic by using some catch words. If like in the example given above, you only would have used the tag "plant" it would be hard to find, but if you use the latin name and tag it with maybe the plant colour, the location, rare or whatever, it will be easier to find. Also ask friends to check your photo account, because the more hits you get, the higher your ranking will be with search engines and you will move up in the list of pics that are displayed when somebody enters certain search phrases.
