I was wondering if it is possible to cross-breed mint and basil. If anyone has successfully done so, or if anyone who comes across this knows a lot about breeding and growing plants, I'd love to read any information you have on the subject. I'd also like to know which I should pollinate with the other's pollen? I know mint is heartier than basil and grows almost like a weed, so would it be a better idea to pollinate the mint with the basil's pollen so it would have a better chance of surviving? I would love to know anything about either of the plants, or cross-breeding, or both. thank you.

  1. They already have.  A farmers market or herb farm would have some. I purchase apple mint, which is hard to find this way.

Basil is a member of the mint family, so  taking a cross section of each would work.
