  1. Definetly you can swim in lakes. But there's like a million so you're gonna haveta be more specific about where

  2. it gets very hot in Canada in summer so of course you can swim in the lakes.Wasaga Beach in Ontario is the longest freshwater beach in the world.............nice place

  3. Yes you can swim in lakes here in the summer. The water is warm enough between June and beginning of September. I only know about lakes in Ottawa, Ontario but I would say Britannia is the best but Mooney's Bay is perfect for picnics. If you want great water quality try Baxter Conservation park.

  4. Yes, of course. Wow, you skipped Saskatchewan in your list! We have the MOST lakes - over 100,000. Come and visit!

  5. Rule of thumb...stay out of mountain lakes, rivers and streams you will freeze everything on your body.  Seriously no matter how hot it is on land the mountain waters are not to swim in.  The Great Lakes are ok to swim in although Lake Huron and Lake Superior are very fresh and can be considered cold by some.

  6. Um, it's summer time.  That means it gets HOT.  Of course you can swim in the lakes.

However,  I wouldn't recommend swimming in the mountain lakes that come from glaciers though.

  7. According to this site at the University of Guelph, Canada has over 3,000,000 lakes. http://www.aquatic.uoguelph.ca/lakes/lak...

I live near the north shore of Lake Erie and there are great beaches and places to swim.

This site has info about some of the places on Lake Erie - http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com... - Port Stanley, and http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com... - Port dover

  8. Yes, I would not recommend swimming in Lake Ontario unless it is super hot and has been for about a week straight.  It has a bateria problem when it's cooler or has JUST rained.  Erie is awesome and fairly shallow so it is warm.  Hudson Bay (Sauble Beach) is great! a little crowded though.  Wasaga Beach is the same (although you can usually drive around and find some side peice of beach hidden off the road that is GREAT.

In Alberta there is Lake Louise, GORGEOUS! omg you will love it, a little cool at times as it is a glacial lake.  But glacial means clean, like so pure.

I don't know about manitoba or BC, i haven't been nor do I know anyone who has been and mentioned swimming.

  9. Never been to Manitoba but Ontario lakes are generally the warmest of the other ones.  BC and Alberta lakes are often fed by glacial streams, but the ones that aren't are nice.
