  1. Why don't you drive it, or trailer it? It'll be far cheaper.

  2. the car trains stopped operating in the early 1980's. So no not in the sense of drive up and on so to speak. you could get it transported by trailer but probably the cheapest way would be to pay some one to drive the car for you and put them on your insurance

  3. The "motorail" no longer runs but  freightliner move containers around so if your car will fit in a container then I gusee the answer is yes, quite where in Edinburgh it would be left I do nort know, Leith Docks?

There are plenty of firm who will transport your car anywhere in a covered Lorry . Our Local Garage recieves customers Ferrari cars for service this way, the Truck looks just blike an ordinary box van till the body tilts and slides backwards.

Costs an arm and a leg but probably cheaper than a Rail ticket.

  4. Not unless you pay EWS or another carrier company to take it and that is not cheap!

It would be better for you to travel up and then hire a car if you dont want to drive up yourself.

  5. edinburgh is in the UK.....

  6. Yes on the overnight Euston-Edinburgh sleeper service.

  7. There is a car carrying train that runs through Edinburgh but it terminates at a compound in Bathgate. It's just for commercial uses though and carrys mainly Citreons and Peugeot's from France. It also recently went up in flames near Drem and wrote of 40 cars.

  8. a big fat no.

as mentioned you are already in the UK, although techincal being in the UK you could be on one of islands still, but that would mean no train link to Edinburgh.

No, ringing them up and asking them to do it as freight does not work. It could be containerised and taken by one of Eddie Stobarts new trains.

NOTE - Dont believe the below , unless he attaches a link proving it, i have never seen one, on the tracks, or at the stations, or advertised. ghost train??

There is a sleeper trainer but the car you will get on there is a toy one.

  9. There was a motor rail service at one time in the UK.

With the motorway roads now you can get there within 8 hours.

  10. i'm sure they'd take it as cargo if you paid for it. consult your local rail station for more.
