Is it possible to take a ship from the U.S. to Europe?

If so, how long would it take and would the waves be rough? I am terribly afraid of planes, but I really would like to go to Europe one day. Also Are there ships to South America?

South america yes, Europe would be very expensive. Go on a miniplane maybe to get use to larger planes (how can you be afraid of planes if you've never been on one? :P try it!)

Taking a ship from the US to Europe takes several days and is very expensive.  Try $2,857.69  as compaired to $300-$400 to fly.
