  1. I think if you just repeat words over and over again then it's in their head and one day they'll attempt it. Maybe try that.

  2. Yes love birds are very smart and it is possible to teach them to talk

  3. Lovebirds CAN learn to talk, but it is EXTREMELY rare. Good Luck!!!

  4. Two of my hand fed lovies that went to very good homes, talk.  One said her name over and over, the other had over a 3 word vocabulary.

  5. Yes.It is.But love-birds talking ability is weaker than Grays & Macaws. However, they're not the birds for talking.

  6. Yes, almost all parrots can be taught to talk and do tricks, since they're intelligent birds -- however, the talking ability of every bird varies immensely, depending on the species and the individual bird's tendencies. Lovebirds are generally not good talkers, although they can learn tricks without much difficulty, and so you'll need utmost patience and perseverance if you want your lovebird to talk as good as a Quaker -- wanting a lovebird to talk like an African Grey or Amazon parrot is simply out of question. Even making a lovebird to talk like a Quaker will take at least months, and probably more than a year, of hard work -- lots of repitition and dedication. There's a book called "Training Captive-Bred Parrots" that contains some wonderful information on how to train parrots of all sizes to talk or do tricks; unfortunately, I forgot the author's name.

If you want your lovebird to learn anything, it is very important that she is happy and healthy -- which means at least an hour of daily interaction (physical and direct talking) and a diet containing enough fruit, veggies and fresh water. Do try out the book I recommended and keep researching, there is some very good info on the Internet as well -- although it may be a bit hard to scan for it.
