Question:

Is it possible to to send a radio signal through wire?

I wish to add an aux. input to my car stereo. I want to try and use a small FM transmitter as the medium between my i pod and my factory radio. I want to basically hook up the small 'ant.' wire from the transmitter, to the ant. input on the back of my factory radio. Will the FM signal that reaches my radio be equivalent to receiving it over the air? Will I have impedance problems? No, I don't plan on using my radio to listen to off air stations anymore, just for this. Any advice? Theory complications? Can it really be this easy? I would like to know before I ruin something. -Thanks

  1. They already make those...http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9oDEWuNVIo6...

It's not wireless so there's no interference. Not to be confused with an FM transmitter. Basically it adds an AUX input to ANY radio. No searching for a clean channel.

It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. It comes with an On/Off switch.

This is the answer. Totally versatile.
