Question:

Is it possible to totally eliminate the burn from lactic acid through rigorous training???

Basically can u have a high enough threshhold for lactic acid build up in the muscles that you dont feel the burn anymore?

  1. Lactic acid has been discredited as the fatigue inducing chemical.  It has been known for many years that it happens to be in the cells of anaerobic activities but since it was there it was blamed.

    Here is a link that has some interesting results:  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/12/health...  .  Basically the fatiguing factor are calcium leaks in the muscle cells.  They have not been able to reduce in humans yet, but at least we have a better understanding.

    Basically you just need to train through it, but there is a point in time that you need to switch from anaerobic to aerobic.
