Is it possible to train yourself to do the splits?

i heard if you stretch everyday for a long time, you'll be able to do them and be super flexible.

  1. Yeah, but im no sure in one day try practicing when you get out of the tub while your muscles are still warm it helps you get down easier in a SNAP it's not a 100 % chance that you'll get it the first time but keep practicing cause practice makes perfect

  5. Ya sure.Do simple floor stretches that will help increase your flexibility. To get a middle split:

    1. Sit in a straddle position on the floor and keep your back tall and taught and shoulders down. Slowly inhale and reach your arms infront of you, sliding them down the floor infront of you and holding it while continuing to breathe deeply and slowly.

    2. Start on all fours, then lower your forearms to the floor so that your elbows are on the ground and your making a fist (as if holding a candlestick in each hand). At this point your knees should still be on the ground. Stretch your legs out to each side of you so all your weight is in your arms. Lower yourself down as far as you can go and hold the position for 1 minute and increase the amount of time each day by intervals you feel comfortable with.

    3. Sit close to a wall in a split position and scoot yourself as close in to the wall as you can. This one hurts but will help as well!

    4. Lay on your back and place one leg on the ground while the other is straight above you. Grab ahold of your ankle or calf, whichever is more comfortable for your height. Pull that leg down as if you want it to touch the floor and DO NOT bend your knee on either leg. Keep your hips centered and dont let them roll out of place.

    before you begin these stretches i would advise you to stretch standing up first by standing with your feet wider then shoulder width apart and keeping your knees straight, try and make your plams touch the floor inbetween and slightly infront of your legs. Do the same thing to either side, but reach your hands down as far as they will go. Hold each stretch for at least 1.5 minutes.

    If you strectch like this daily you will see improvements in your flexibility!

    Get help from a sibling and go down into a split and have them push u down harder

    or put to pillows under you legs

    and try doing them on ur bed it works believe me

  7. yes, every summer i train my body and strech, and every year gradually i am able to do the splits by the end of the summer. somtimes it only takes a week! so keep it up!!

  9. Ya that's true when i was little i never new about them so id strect everyday 20 minutes everyday and then one day i did a backflip or a front flip and i accidently did the splits and my neighbor was like wow and they were older then me but like i was 5 and they were like 8-10

  10. Yes! A good way to get them is to hold them for a minute and a half each day. You will see improvement very quickly. Having your splits definitely help with your flexibility.  Good luck and hope this helps!!!
