Is it possible to transfer a VHS to a recordable DVD from home? Do I need special equipment?

I also need to transfer pictures from different locations (ex: e-mail, kodak easyshare) to one location so that I can e-mail them to someone that will make the DVD and add music. I need to put the pictures in numerical order of when they actually happened.

You need either a DVD recorder or a PC with a DVD drive and a video capture card.

For your photos, you can create a data DVD with all your pictures and send it to your friend.
