Yes you need some screen capturing software such as

then you will need to save the file , then convert it to pal format(if youre in the UK) use this to convert and burn to disc

I'm afraid this isn't possible.  This is because the BBC have it set up so the programmes can only be watched on the same device as they are recorded.  Some game consoles can record output from the IPlayer, but otherwise you have to watch them on your computer, whether streamed or downloaded.
