I'm just wondering if this would be possible. I recently purchased an external hard drive to store all my music, because I'm going to purchase a new laptop sometime soon, and I was wondering if it would at all be possible to transfer files from the current external hard drive I have to another one that has more gigs without having to save everything on my computer first.

Thanks

  1. Yes, it is very possible. You have to plug in both hard drives via SUB on one computer. Then you open the one external drive through my computer and also open the other one. Now transfer from one window to the other.

  2. Sure - Just plug them both into the computer and drag & drop the music folder(s) from one drive to the other. If your music software expects to know where the files are, you might have to take extra steps or rename the new hard drive afterwards.

  3. If for some reason what the dudes above me said doesn't work you can always plug in the hard drive with the data, select everything, copy it, then disconnect it, connect the new one and paste the stuff onto the new one
