Hi, I'm going to be a freshman at CSULA for pre-nursing and I wanted to know if it was possible to transfer from a cal state into a UC school (for nursing) in my junior year or any other university (out-of-state). I visited the UCLA transfer page but it seems that they only accept transfers from community colleges and other UCs. Please help!

  1. You can transfer from a 4 year university to UCLA, but they definitely give preference to community college transfers over four year schools (especially in the same city).

If there is a good reason, like CSULA doesn't have your major, you will have a better chance on getting in.

Hope you make it in, UCLA is a fantastic place.

  2. it is possible, but its highly unlikely. Most 4 year universities accept little transfers from other 4 year universities and i think its because those students dont have to transfer in order to get a bachelors degree.

You should still give it a try, since UCLA has a very good undergrad nursing program, but just dont get your hopes up. The odds arent in your favor.
