Is it possible to transfer music from a minidisc onto a laptop or CD?

I have loads of old minidiscs with music I want to transfer onto my MP3 player, but can't work out how to move them onto a CD or electronic format - any ideas?

It is if your minidisc player has an optical port. You just need to buy a fibre optic cable and it should transfer. At least I think so anyway. I used to put 4 CDs worth of music on a minidisc by re4cording them from a  PS2 to a portable mibidisc player via an optical cable
