I am traveling to Egypt in Aug, and wish to go down to Uganda and / or Kenya for a week. I would also like to make a couple stops along the way, perhaps Eritrea and

Ethiopia. I'm looking for the cheapest means to do so, while taking time into consideration . Any ideas?

Thank you.

  1. Local transport is good....buses most of the time....you will have to go to the differents embassies for visas and stay few days in the cities to wait for it...I recommand Egypt-Soudan-Ethiopia-Kenya-Uganda....th... way is beautifull and pretty safe... Local buses are challenging and take a long time... Talk about it with travellers you'll meet in the hotels...Once you arrive in a capital, go to the embassy for the visa to the next country cause it can take some times before you'll get one...then be carrefull with timing, the buses leave early in the morning and it can get crazy there...I remember the bus station in addis where it was challenging....Bus is very fun and you'll be able to meet a lot of people and locals....crossing the borders is also challenging but that is an other stroy, read about it in Lonely planet...

have fun, this part of Africa is the best....
