Is it possible to use 60Hz motor in 50Hz? How?

    assuming that you are applying the correct voltage for which motor is designed, output of the motor will be equal to 50/60 watts(rated output of the motor)


  2. yes...but the rpm will change...and the motor torque will change...just make sure you are using the rated voltage of the motor...within 10% either way

  3. If the motor is rated at 60Hz, this means it is a synchronous motor.  If you run it on 50Hz power it will run fine, but it will be running 16% slower than normal.

    This is assuming the voltage is that same on both 60 and 50 Hz.  If you also change the voltage, like from 120 to 240, there will be smoke.  Or from 240 to 120, it will not run.
