I've joined a few groups that are not closely moderated and soon they become enundated with spam. When this happens, I would like to not only remove myself from the group, but if my e-mail address starts to receive more spam from "e-mail whores" that have stolen it from that group, I want to take advantage of my disposable e-mail addresses.

  1. Send messages from any of your email accounts

Do you use multiple email accounts, say, for work, personal mail, and groups? Now you can send all your email from one place, but still choose which account it comes from. When you add and verify an email address, it is added to the "From" pull-down menu on the "Compose" page. When you write a message, just select the return address you want to use, and that's the one the recipient will see. This is especially useful if you check external (POP) mail and reply to emails that were sent to you at a different email address.

  2. Yes, you can use a disposable email address in group memberships.  If you find yourself in a position where you are receiving spam as you describe, you can unsubscribe from the group.  If it continues, you can just delete the disposable email address.
