  1. no

  2. Red diesel is simply ( duty rebated / cheap) for OFF road or limited on-road use.(Agricultural & plant).  Use it on the road  at your peril.  HM customs & excise will string you up if you're caught + crush your car.

  3. i think so!LOLLLLLLLLLL

  4. Yes it is OK to use in a car.

HOWEVER if you get caught by Customs & Excise you will be fined and could loose the car.

The diesel in heaqting oil and that used in agriculture is dyed red and there is no way to stop this being detected in your car.

They will examine fuel filters in your car which are dyed red by the fuel.

Easyest way - buy a tractor or a JCB.

  5. I thought heating oil was more paraffin than diesel.  I have used heating oil in my Tilley storm lamps for beach fishing.

I'm not sure your diesel engine would run properly on it, and I dare say that HMRC/VOSA would take a dim view if they dipped your tank and found it full of fuel that isn't "tax paid", just as they would if they found red diesel in it.

I suggest you test your theory about the heating oil on a vehicle that doesn't matter, like an MoT failure or something, before you risk costing yourself in repair bills.

  6. Heating oil (A.K.A. Kerosene or Parrafin) is 28 second oil, whereas diesel (red or white) is 32 second (redwood scale) The viscosity (and lube properties) of heating oil can be increased by adding a little lube oil.  Some of the older (style) diesel engines could be operated on parrafin with a set ratio of lube oil(Gardner specified this in the handbook!)    Heating oil is now tinted yellow,so it to can be detected by the customs man!

  7. yes why not.. it is possible !! Nothing is Impossible- Remember. No need to modify anything.. Just use and see the Results. !! By the way which car you are going to do this type of major experiment !! Inform FORD rightaway !!

Seems they need new ideas badly.

  8. As some others have said it will work but it is illegal because you don't pay the same taxes on it that you would for regular diesel.

  9. Anything that doesn't vaporize faster can't be used in diesel cars. As for modifications, it has to be done to suit the properties of fuel. Since, the idea is urs, experimentation is urs. If u r successful, u can apply for registration of ur work .

  10. A diesel engine will burn lard if you can keep it liquefied.  The answer is yes, but make sure your filter is good.  It is not as clean normally.

  11. You can use No.2 heating oil, and possibly No.1.  It may not, howevr, be legal since heating oil has a higher sulfur content than highway diesel.

  12. A friend of mine used in his truck some of 10 tones of sunflower oil that he transported  to the oil factory after he ran out of diesel. What a long and d**k  black smoke behind his truck...And it worked just fine! And smelled like something is fried...
