Is it possible to walk - in in a hotel for check in?

i am asking this because i have a guest and i am planning to let him stay in a hotel. would it be possible to walk-in and and get a hotel room for check-in?

Yes of course. It all depends on the hotel and the day he will be trying to get a room. If the hotel has a room available, they will gladly give it to a walk in customer. The best way to find out is to ask at the desk! Let them know when your friend will be coming and if they have any rooms available for that time.

It depends on the hotel policy.  Most hotels do allow walk ins, however if it is a busy time of year and there are no rooms available, you will have some difficulty getting a room.  

It's best to call a hotel ahead of time, just to check if they are busy, and if you were to walk in what would be the chance that you could get a room.

Or the other option would be to reserve the room online, just before you go to the hotel.  Most hotels now have online reservation systems.
