Sure. It's a good way to pass the time. Just don't get so engrossed in the tv program that you ride off the edge.

Isn't it amazing that so many cyclist don't know what rollers are?

Not for me, but my 17 year old daughter, The Time Trial-er, used to do it, and juggle tennis balls at the same time. She also did crosswords on a typewriter, got straight A's K-12, and had perfect attendance. Don't try it.

Yes that is possible.

You have to put you bike between two chairs. You will get used to moving back into the center of the roller when your arm hits one of the chairs. It is not overly difficult after a few times. Some things like watching a picture from inside a car or motor cycle is hard. You just naturally turn a bit with them. Just don't have any glass nearby.

   I would use a purpose build bike, the ones that they use at a gym for spinning are nice. They are easier to adjust the difficulty while riding. You can stand up.

This guy has side barriers on the cylendars the yellow things - I have never tried that. (Not that it helps him.)

I bought a used set and set them up in a doorway, so I could watch tv while riding.

The third session I rode, I somehow twiched or something (it happened rather quickly) and next thing I knew I was horizontal in a doorway with everything moving at 18-20 mph.

When I was healed enough, I repaired the bike, replaced the door jamb, and switched to a Nashbar fluid trainer. The rollers are still in the basement if interested.
