  1. You would win if the 8-ball went in on the break in most rule formats.  If you are playing that 8-balls on the break are not wins, then all the stripes would stay down and you'd have to spot the 8 ball and shoot from wherever the white ball lies.

I made 9 balls on the break back in January, but on a small table.  6 stripes and 3 solids.  I made the last stripe and then the 8 ball for the win.

  2. By the WPA world-standardized rules, you do not win:

    (e) Pocketing the eight ball on a legal break shot is not a foul. If the eight ball is pocketed, the breaker has the option of

        (1) re-spotting the eight ball and accepting the balls in position, or

        (2) re-breaking.

Some tournaments will have their own rules though and pocketing the 8 on the break may win.  Pocketing the solids or stripes does not matter.

In 9 ball, generally pocketing the 9 on the break is a win.

  3. The chances of all stripes or all colored going in on the break and THEN the eight ball are astronomical to say the least. Rules might have change since I spent my time at the pool hall, but if the eight ball goes in on the break, thats a winner.

  4. haha would be pretty good if you knew how to do it all the time
