i have two 12's i want to hook up to a mono amp. i realize that not all mono amps have 2 pair of speaker output. is it possible to still hook up the 2 subs to the amp even if the amp is non bridgable and i want to wire in 2ohms (2 dual voice coil 2ohm).

  1. Yes...you can wire 10 subs to a mono amp so long as you have the correct ohm or impedance...in order to get a final 2 ohm set up...you need to wire each sub in series to make a 4 ohm sub then parallel the 2 subs to get a final 2 ohm load...here is a heplful link that shows you how to wire the subs  http://rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer...

ADDITION:Whats the deal with the thumbs down rating? My answer is 100% correct and so is Jmann's...Immature people I guess.

  2. if you plan to replace your amp after it blows . one 12 should do you just fine.

power is the most important thing to yur sound, if you dont give them what they call for,its going to sound muffled. if i were you i would just want the best for sound, and with one good 12, (RFord is the best,i think)

but may brands must live up to the name. just try , and get rid of mono,

You and I both know that MONO amps are made for subs. If the amp is 2 ohm stable and the final load of the circuit is 2 ohms, you're fine. Just make sure that you aren't going to overpower the subs. Add the RMS rating of the subs. Then, match it to the amp's RMS power at 2 ohms.

If you don't knoe how to wire the subs to 2 ohms, here's a link. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer...

If you want a 2 ohm final load from 2 woofers. Make sure that you get dual 2 ohm. If you get dual 4 ohm. The only wiring options to you are, 1, 4, or 16 ohms
