Is it possible to wire a bathroom extractor fan to a standard 3 pin plug?

Would a standard plug be ok with this? I want to create a semi-portable airbrush station using 2 bathroom extractors (as they should be moisture resistant) so would need to plug them in using a normal plug.

  1. Yes it is just wire both fans in parallel & don't forget to use a 3A or 5A fuse in the plug

Edit> Buy the ones without a timer they're cheaper!

  2. Ask an electrician.

  3. Yes. The black wires from the fans would attach to the smaller spade connector on the plug. The white wires to the larger spade. The bare copper to the round. Of course all connections must be wrapped in electricians tape with a wire nut possibly holding the actual wires together.

  4. You can but it's better to connect them to a switch so you can turn them on and off easier. Make sure you vent them out side also or you will get over spray everywhere.

  5. Yes, just make sure you wire the "U" safety ground pin on the line cord to the housing, and the black (or "hot") wire to the black wire in the fan.

If you are in the U.S., the hot wire on a line cord is connected to the blade that fits into the narrower of the two openings on the outlet.
