  1. Nope.  You are on a contract.  You will be on the ship for about six months.

  2. Only if you get fired the first trip <grin>.

People who work on ships sign 5-8 month contracts. If you leave early, you are on your own dime to get home. Even entertainers normally are on for several weeks or months.

  3. I agree with the above answerer.  you will sign a contract good for six months and have the chance to renew it for you are highly recommended by your superior onboard.

  4. No

most lines have 5 to 9 month contracts

  5. Not usually.

The shortest contracts are usually youth counselors during the summer.  Usually their contracts are a few weeks to a few months.

But it is probably not worth it to the cruiseline with all the paperwork and pre-hire stuff that needs to be done to then only hire someone for a week.

  6. Try it and see....

  7. Almost impossible to work just one week without being terminated for something.  Most ships require a contract.  Some do have Entertainer's that are on board for maybe one sailing but other than that, it is doubtful.
