alright I'm going into my sophomore year of college and i was thinking about trying out for the baseball team. I didnt play for the school team in high school beacuse i never tried out for it, but i did play for a summer rec. leauge all through high school, I played center fieldield and was pretty good at it and i was pretty good at hitting too, especially my senior year. I didnt play this summer because i didnt know of any leagues to play in. With all that said, i was wondering what my chances are at actually making the team.

Thanks

  1. Its pretty hard but If you are talented enough then teams will take you. Remember to work hard and have a good attitude and keep your head up high. Coaches really like that.

  2. Sure, if you're good enough.  (Just to pick an example, Jason Bay of the Red Sox went to a high school with no baseball team.)  It helps that you were playing competitively, so you actually have some skills.  Whether you can make it really comes down to how good the team is - if you're at a school with a Division III team that nobody cares about, you're in a better position to make it than if you're a competitive Division I school.

  3. do it kid

  4. um no sorry less than 1%

  5. Unless you are just some kind of freakishly talented guy probably not a realistic thought but who knows man, go for it if they will let you try out.

  6. Yes it is possible.  Though you would of had a better shot in high school baseball. but it never to late.

50/50 i say do the best you can do so effort even if you ground out hussle on the way on everything.

  7. yes.  if you're good enough, work hard enough, and go to the right school at the right time it can happen.  i did it.  i was homeschooled in tennesse and wasnt allowed to play high school baseball.  then i walked on at a community college in arizona and plan on transfering to an NAIA school after this season

  8. you would just have to be a walk on at a tryout and hope you are good enough.  the only thing you can do is work your butt off.

  9. Never hurts to try. Its gonna be hard and does not happen often but you will never know if you do not try. Give it 100% and Good Luck!
