Yes.

1) You can connect the camcorder directly to your TV using the analog AV cable.

2) When you transfer the video to your computer for editing and burn a DVD of the finished project, the DVD authoring application will downsample to what your computer's DVD burner can handle - most likely standard definition video. This DVD can then be played in any DVD player.
