  1. Most companies, whether traded publicly or not will release information for viewing.  To find this information go the the company's website and look for an "investor" link and click on that.  That should bring you to a part of the site where you can view financials.  Some companies post the abbreviated financials also, which can be easier to read.

  2. No, unless the company is traded on a stock exchange. Then they have to release it a few times each years, and usually put it on their web sites.

  3. No, company financial information is not public information, unless the company is publicly traded on a stock exchange.

If you think about it logically, would you post your financial information on your personal blog for everyone to see? then why would a private company post its financial information on its website? why would it give that kind of information to competitors?

The only reason public companies release financial information is because they are required to by the SEC. There are many rules and regulations regarding how a public company must report its financial data, so as not to mislead investors.

Financial data about a private company is released on a strict need to know basis, either to banks and lenders, or possible firms that are looking to aquire it.

If you are looking to aquire a firm you do what is called "due dilligence" and show a strong interest in the firm, and then they will put a good faith effort to present you with accurate and timely financial data.
