  1. Somehow I doubt Yahoo Answers is the best place to calibrate your moral compass.

  2. I was wondering where I left it...

  3. i think its not. if it's in your property ( in YOUR pool ) you may get it but if someone claims it from you, give it to them

  4. Not unless you keep it... hand it in to the police and if no-one collects it over a period of time ... its yours!

  5. yes. as long as you take something that's NOT YOURS!! That's stealing!

  6. it was probably adam sandler singing to drew bary more  '

    ' 50 first dates''

  7. yes; if the guitar is not yours, I consider that stealing.

  8. not really finders keepers losers weepers

  9. sorta...........i would at least tell your apartment manager or subdivision association president (who ever is in charge of your pool).  That you found it and if after 30 day's,  you would like to know if you can keep it, if not claimed.

  10. Yes it is stealing.  It isn't yours.

  11. yes that is theft - you should have handed in to reception or if this was your actual pool you know it must belong to someone you know therefore put it away safely and start asking around

  12. No.  It is an abandoned item.  If unclaimed in reasonable time, it becomes the possession of the householder.  The person who left it there (if uninvited) might be liable for prosecution for trespass.

  13. yes

  14. In a word - yes!!  You would know that belongs to someone, you should have handed it into reception!  Because you saw it and no-one was next to it, does not give you permission to take it!

  15. Only if you take it.

  16. Yes.

Someone owns the guitar and it is not you.

If you had left it, would you want someone to walk off with it?

  17. No its not stealing if you find it there. Did you have a party if you did  then no but maybe someone stole a guitar got caught and had to find some where to put it and you got lucky :)

  18. Personally I would keep it until the person asked for it.

  19. Yes. The proper thing to do would be to turn it into security the next morning. You wouldn't want something of yours taken if you possibly had to leave for an emergency, etc. It is stealing & you're a theif if you take something that's not yours and don't make an effort to find the rightful owner.

  20. It's just as easy to take the guitar as it is to leave a note saying where the owner can claim it, or bringing it to a lost and found.

If you don't put the minimal effort into returning the guitar to its rightful owner, then I don't know if it's stealing, but it's definately dishonest.
