  1. Imma say yes. Here's why. If Oprah can open an all black school and not be racist and a white person open an all white school yet its racist imma say having a Spanish night being racist.

  2. No more than black history month.  I wonder if we can have Irish night with Guinness and corned beef?  I remember Ladies Night where women got a couple free or half priced drinks.  Some men sued and it was made illegal to advertise that way.  I bet it was g*y guys that did that.  The bars got around with a loophole with a night where anyone wearing a skirt gets the sale.  There were a lot of kilts,  It was funny.

  3. It would be racist if ONLY hispanics were allowed to attend.  Because then that would be discriminating against other races.

  4. no not at all it is like ladies nite ,,

  5. If it has something to do with race then it is racist [ Both good and bad things can be racist ] but is it acceptable is more of your question, which is yes it is, if there is a large amount hispanic people in the community .

  6. of course its not silly its only racist if white people do it lol Yes it is racist but do you think anyone will do anything about it nope of course not

  7. Creating a safe environment for a group of people of color to go out and enjoy a comfortable evening without the threat of being verbally challenged or judged.

This seems to be the opposite of racist.

Racism is a socially created idea where people with privilege systematically (consciously or unconsciously) oppress the "other" group or the underprivileged members of a society.

Here we have a group of people who are empowered to come out and enjoy an evening of music.

Now if the evening is run by White people and it uses stereotypical cliche's of whatever the "main" viewpoint of people who identify as Hispanic, you probably have racism.

But if it is a cultural night to educate and spread awareness about Hispanic culture, I would say it is a productive evening and your local bar should be considered an advocate and ally for people of color.

  8. No

  9. It'd be better if they did Spanish theme or something... Taco night! Lol

But I think it's acceptable as long as they let other people in too, and call it more of a theme than a requirement.

  10. It would be in our area.  They even banned ladies night.  They can no longer single out any group to get any specials that the other folks cannot.

  11. No its only racist if they have " White Night"

  12. as long as everyone speaks english then no it's ok

  13. Here we go. More "the poor white man" rants. Yes we get it, though white people are three-quarters of the country's population, they are somehow discriminated against and still manage to control the country for the most part. But you have it so rough with Black History Month and Hispanic Night at a bar. It must be so tough to see others want to celebrate their culture.

  14. No more than when bars advertise "Ladies Night".  It's just a way of extending a hand to the local communites to let them know they are welcome!

  15. That is what Mexico is for...

    Just playing.

I do, however, agree with some of the others who said it would only be racist if they didn't allow people of other ethnicities in the bar on that night.

  16. who wants to go to a bar with all hispanics anyway

  17. Of course NOT!!!    People these days think that almost everything is racist......very sad!   It's fun to offer different ethnic events to see and partake in the culture's ways!

Have a ball!!   Have a blast!!   Have fun and be safe.....that's not predudice nor racist to do this.  :o)
