  1. i dont think it is rare, i myself has an IEP and i got accepted into college with a 14 on my act, 14 out of 36, thats not good, i didnt bother takin it again after i got accepted. well i have an iep and the people at my school said i could chose for it to follow me in college or leave it at my high school, i am a senior and i will be attending college after summer, its a 4 year college, im also a slacker, so you'll have no problem getting into the college you want .

  2. No, if you are talking about people with such disabilities as learning disabilities, ADD, Asperger's syndrome, CP, hearing impairment, vision impairment, etc.  that impacts the WAY you learn.  It is more rare for people with significant impairments, like autism, Down Syndrome, etc., although this is not impossible, depending on the level of impairment.  Most colleges will make accommodations for people with an IEP, although I don't think this is required.    It is rare if you think that in the total college population, less than 10% of the students have an IEP.

  3. not at all-happens all the time-

1 i know of is on the deans list-

    another has 2 masters degrees

  4. Depends what the reason behind the IEP is.

If it's a physical or sensory disability which does not affect your learning as it does not affect the way your brain works (like being blind or deaf or having Cerebral Palsy) then I can't see a problem. The college would just have to provide what you need like books etc in braille, a sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessible facilities

For something that affects the way you think and learn it may be a problem but there may be ways to do it.
