The hospitals original rec room looks like it is over 30 years old. Also, some of the staff feel putting in video and computer games will have a negative effect on the children.

  1. It's up to the parent how much time the child spend in the rec room and children in hospital feel left out enough why shouldn't they do as much as they can of what the other children are doing??  There have been studies done that prove that children who are in hospitals that have access to the same things that others do do better.  Especially the children who have cancer, these kids need something to take their mind off of why they are in the hospital.  That's traumatic enough why make it even harder??

  2. kids spend way too much time playing mindless video games. Read to them, have them write stories, draw pictures, be creative.

  3. Yes.  Having spent a portion of my son's life in a children's hospital . . . let these children have a few moments of happiness - between life saving surgeries and chemotherapy.

  4. The hospital should upgrade their rec room because it can give the children some fun activities.  Video and computer games don't have to have a negative effect on children because the hospital can buy educational games that help children learn and are still fun to play.
