  1. Hi,

    In July, the roads of the South are overloaded!!!! A lot of people likes this parts of France. It is there where it makes most warmly and there also where it makes most good weather!

    Thus normally, we put 2 hours, but with the traffic(circulation) it is unpredictable! The whole, it is to be patient! Especially that French are not very courteous in the steering wheel!!!!

    Then, good stay and good courage!

    Bye

  2. If you don't drive during rush hour it is quite feasible. You will drive nearly half the distance on a motorway.

  3. The distance ist 133 km, given time 2 hours sounds about right. The month is not the major issue, it is also the question of time.

    Early in the morning, late at night, afternoon rush hour, Sunday, Friday, Monday etc.

    Two hours is feasable, avoiding rush hours it should be no problem. To be safe, plan in an extra 30 minutes to an hour and possibly as the locals when the worst traffic is (usually Friday afternoon)

  4. Bison Futé is set up to help travelers particularly by telling them when the busy times are.

    In France most people either take July or August for their annual holiday. This means that the first weekend of July and the last weekend of August are very busy but that the crossover - last weekend of July first of August is VERY VERY busy. The road conditions are classed in colours:

    Green = good

    orange = a bit busy

    red = busy

    black = very heavy traffic

    You can check it out here:

    Also if you travel at times when people are going out for the day or returning to their campsite or hotel it can be extremely busy - but that is more between coastal towns like Nice and St Tropez on the coastal road.
