Question:

Is it really better to order a salad at a restaurant...?

then say...a burger? I'm trying to lose some weight but I know that some salads can be just as bad as anything else on the menu.

  1. It's not always just the dressing!  There may be ingredients that are not going to help you with your weight loss plan.  If you order a salad, look for one that has mostly vegetable content rather than a lot of eggs, meats, and cheeses.  And, by all means, get the dressing on the side.  

    About the dressing...a little trick is to dip the tines of your fork just a little bit into the dressing then spear your bite of salad.  You'll get the flavor of the dressing in each bite, but can easily control how much of it you eat.

  2. Salads are not bad at all. They are very healthy and filling. It's the dressing that can make them bad for you. What I do is order my dressing on the side. That way, you can either pour a certain amount, or you can dip your salad in the dressing. This will help you be in control of the calories you are consuming. You can also ask for light or fat free dressing. Creamier dressing is more fattening than oil based dressing. Keep that in mind also. Remember, at a restaurant they cater to you. You tell them how you want it, and they will be more than happy to bring it to you that way.

  3. yes most salads are good just watch out for the dressings and the meat they offer. Creamier dressings almost defeat the purpose.  Also alot of restraunts offer other low fat things such as wraps which are really worth a shot.  I was hesitant at first but like a tuna or turkey wrap are filling and low cal as comapred to bread or a hoagie roll. But remeber if your trying to lose wieght dont starve yourself. Have a burger sometimes to be fulfilled.

  4. WHY ARE YOU GOING TO PAY MORE THAN $5 FOR A SALAD WHEN YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN AT HOME. WHEN YOU GO TO A RESTRAUNT YOU WANT TO EAT SOMETHING YOU HARDLY MAKE EAT AT HOME, AND GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH.

  5. your skinny by the look of your pic so i would say et all the fast food you want cause you are not fat and don't need to diet.

  6. When you try a salad with the unwashed greens I can almost guarantee you'll lose weight the hard way!
