Question:

Is it really doomsday in the year 2012

I have read numerous sources about this and my data tells me no. The mayans created a long count calender in the year 3113BC. This calendar was used to keep track of time through numbers of 0 though 20. It just so happens that their calendar ends on 13.0.0.0.0. This is the date DEcember 20th 2012. If anyone has ever added the years up, they would see that the calendar will be 5125 years old. THAT IS THE EXACT TIME IT TAKES FOR THE EARTH TO PRECESS THROUGH 1 AEON :O.

Thats right, we are not in a doomsday, we are going to be entering into a new age. That is why people predict enlightenment rather than doom.

Besides, the Mayans predicted the world would end by flood. Why would be believe all the other charlatans in their saying that it will end by bomb or something when they are using the mayan calender to make the prediction..

What does everyone else think?

  1. smoke some pot and dont worry about it... theres now way the mayans could have know that the earth will end at a certain dat. they might have know about aeons so they just stopped at the end of it...but who rle cares i mean theres no way to avoid it if that is what happens

  2. I think YOUR ABSOLUTLEY RIGHT. I thought of that too when they first said all of this doomsday stuff. They can't actually know what year this is and how many days its been from that calendar. No one could possibly know what date where in. I think you hit the spot on this 2012.

  3. this is christian belief so i dont beleive in any of it

  4. I just saw the documentary on TV and it was scary.

History channel and sounded pretty accurate. And when backed up with all the Prophets who are all predicting the END OF THE WORLD in December 21, 2012. People like Nostradamus, Merlin, the Bible, and others. They showed 12 prophets that are predicting the end on that date. They are from many times and places so how can they all have predicted the same time. It is something to think about.

The Mayan Calender ends on that date after years and years of dates and times and events. Why? The Myans were quite accurate with their calenders predicting years of food and famine and storms and drought.

I have been to the ruins in Mexico. They built their pyramids based on their calendars. And I even believe that Aliens built these pyramids with them. They brought advanced technology to Earth even back then.

Also, you can predict the world will end as more and more sightings of UFO's and Aliens increase. More and more abductions. Why? Maybe, they are trying to preserve mankind. I saw the documentary on why they take humans for experiments. To steal a womens eggs and a mans sperm. Why? They are saving mankind? They want to help. They know the end is near and we are prepetuating our own demise.

We are killing Mother Earth at a rapid rate. Now global warming is melting icebergs and causing irregular weather (floods, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, heat and drought). We continue to cut down trees, rape Mother Earth of her oil and coal, and trash up our world. When do we ever care about our planet and TAKE ACTION. What does it take for us to think on our own and stop letting the politicians rule us and our planet. Why do we continue WAR when it is wrong and it is destroying mankind. Why do we kill when we are all brothers and sisters.

That date is fast approaching. Let us change our ways before it is too late. God gave us "free will" to make our own decisions about LIFE and DEATH.

  5. This may not be relevant at all, but, the calculations may be slightly awry because in fact an error was made by a monk when calculating Christ's birth, resulting in a 4 year error, therefore if our calendar is truly based on the years after Christ, then we are in fact in 2012 now. That's something a teacher told me though, so don't take my word for it :P

  6. I hope something does happen, it'd be quite interesting.

  7. The whole '2012 Apocalypse' thing is all bollocks. It's just the gullible getting freaked about a man-made date and a few dodgy prophecies.

  8. Aeons aren't exact and there is no good reason to believe that mankind's development is on a schedule.

But if the end of a calendar means the destruction of the world, how come Hallmark bother to release new calendars every year?

  9. Clearly you have done some independent research. Yes, the Mayan calendar is believed to end in 2012, and even if that were roughly an eon, then perhaps that was done on purpose, or perhaps it was by coincidence. It hardly matters, for if the Mayan calendar had ended on a different date, people would still freak out about it. But if the Mayas were unable to predict their own demise how could they predict that of the rest of mankind? I don't believe the world will end in 2012, but if it does there's nothing we can do about it! But I'd be keeping a closer eye on the comet that circle Earth every year coming just a little bit closer each time, you never know, the year 2032 could be the year it enters our system, creating a cataclysm the likes Earth hasn't felt since it's "birth".

  10. Quite frankly I'm sick of hearing about it.  I'm too busy to worry about if the world will end or we are all going to be converted into an enlightened way or form or whatever.  If the world will end, so be it.  To me, it seems that it couldn't get here sooner...

  11. i think that the world will not end in 2012 because that was developed by the aztacs and because they were right about there own dimise people asume they are right about ours

  12. erm erm... i dnt no wat to say i am confused what do u mean a new age?

  13. I don't think it is the end of the world, but if the calculations are correct, there will definitely be some sort of change on earth.

This article points out some of the possible changes.

As the sun moves into solar maximum from solar minimum, increased sunspot activity is expected, which will mean an increase in the disruption of satellite-dependent services such as GPS and cell phones.

  14. Yes, there are many, many predictions of 2012. However, most of them talk about the new age or new level and shift in consciousness. I can't predict the future, but it is possible. I think something might happen on that date, but I don't think it will be doomsday.

  15. I've never done the research you have, but I do know for some reason I have ALWAYS thought the world would end in 2012.  Just a gut feeling, nothing to back it up.  Then while on my honeymoon we were visiting the Mayan ruins, and I heard that date of December 2012 and about passed out.

I dont know...I LOVE my life and my family and I pray that life continues.  I do know I'll be an emotional mess for most of 2012 though! :-P

  16. No.  Humans will not know when the world will end.  God has told this in His book.  I will believe when the mountains crumble into the seas.

  17. acroding to the aztecs yes, but its not going to happen

  18. The next morning will be like the previous one. We are not near doomsday yet.
