Is it really illegal to post an add that you would be willing to adopt a baby due to unwanted children?

I'm not sure of the legalities but I really want to know if anyone knows this because I personally don't see anything wrong with it because people post adds in the newspapers locally here and also all over the internet in different forums where they think that potentially they could reach out to some and it be beneficial to both mother/child and the adoptive parents. Is that so wrong?

  1. The law said that a mother only can chose the prospective adoptive parent/s though an adoption agency and the mother has no financially gain from the child.  You have to pay a fee for adoption agency.  Adoption is a transaction of a minor human life and not a cat so the government must look after the child welfare. This is a good law and it is no shortcut about it..

By the way, you can post  a profile with picture of you and your spouse through an adoption agency to looking for a child.

    Good luck

  2. It is illegal. I wanted to do it myself. Because my husband and I are trying to adopt. But I was warned about it being illegal, thankfully, Before I did it.

  3. same reason people can't sell their own organs online. It takes advantage of people who are so desperate for money that they'll do things that are harmful to themselves or their family

  4. It's illegal so people can't sell their children into slavery or prostitution. (accidently or on purpose)

It's a good law and it's their for a reason.

  5. As you point out, there are many places that will let you do this.  Y!A is not one of them.  Here it's against the TOS, so why not just try the other places?

  6. Not only is it illegal, it's unethical and a really bad idea.  There is nothing beneficial about it.  It's way too easy for the parents or for the PAP's to get screwed over.  It's too easy for the child to end up in a terrible situation.

Why not go to the Department of Children's Services or whatever it's called in your particular area?  There are lots of kids in foster care that don't have families.

  7. It's predatory

Same reason you wouldn't advertise to give someone's kidney a good home for money - icky

  8. I believe it is dependent on your state's regulations regarding adoption.  Many states are very specific about the way bio families and adoptive families are able to find each other.  It can be considered "soliciting" and could affect the chances of finalizing the adoption so I highly recommend to everyone to check with their state before doing anything.

Another fear that I have about these types of things is the few people who are out there looking to scam adoptive parents.  I don't mean the bio parents who rightfully change their minds about adoption, but rather the people who aren't even pregnant but claim that if you pay all their bills, they'll allow you to adopt their child.  In my opinion, why take the chance?

  9. Not exactly sure if it's illegal or not, but it is against the Y!A TOS, we have had postings on here from pap's looking to adopt, and those posts are removed by Y!A very quickly.

  10. Adoption is not beneficial to mothers OR babies.  Maybe you ought to do some research.
