I've seen this thing on lots of TV shows where people just like press or poke or pinch a certain part of someone else's body, and the other person just falls and goes numb.

What is this? Can you actually do this? If so, where can I learn! What a great thing to use in self-defense

  1. Wow, I actually heard a Dragon Society reference! That's a rarity...

Yes as it was previously mentioned... Kyusho Jitsu, Dim Mak, Dian Xue, and Tuite Jitsu. It takes years and years to learn.

There are many people in the world who would like to take claim for this knowledge and know nothing of it. There are also people who learn a few of the MOST common points and say they know all. It is very difficult to find somebody who is truly knowledgeable. So unless you really desire this study to encompass your being and way of life I would suggest learning how to smash a face instead.

Though I will say if your heart desires this uncommon knowledge and you want to begin to understand the universe, take up Tai Chi and start down the path of the Buddhist or Taoist. Many doors will open up to you and your understanding and material desires will change significantly.

  2. It's just pressure points you can learn them from a class about the anatomy of the body

  3. yes you can it's all about pressure points and if you poke them or push on them it can stop the blood flow and the person can loose motion to that part of the body and go numb. they do recover after a while though.

  4. Its not possible.

  5. There are points on the neck that you can pinch (provided you have sufficient hand strength) that most people will find excruciatingly painful, feel uncoordinated, and often drop down to try to escape.

There are points you can strike to disable the limbs or to black people out.

The points are referred to as kyusho and are taught as part of koshijutsu, a subset of kobujutsu skills. It's not really as useful as it seems as many of the points are smaller, hard to get to, and take a great deal of skill to access. Further, they don't work on everyone to the same degree. If it were easy, no one would bother with different martial arts.

  6. Google: Dragon Society Rick Moneymaker

I didn't believe either until one of these guys knocked me unconcious by slapping my elbow.  I've since seen dozens of pressure point knockouts.  They are very real, but extremely tricky.  I find them too difficult to do for real self defence.  Better to slam a fist into him.

  7. Yes you can do stuff like that but it takes years and years and years to become any good at it, as someone said it is better to learn how to hit and kick someone then it is to learn pressure points.

  8. I don't think you can knock someone out by doing that, but when you do put pressure on a pressure point it hurts like a betch
