  1. No. You can not buy a UK title. The only way to get a title is to inherit it,marry into it or earn it through service to the crown.

Fake titles are easily traced by Burke's Peerage and Debrett's,so those naive people who do buy one do not fool anybody!

  2. u can buy one but it isn't recognized by the British govt

  3. I could sell you a title, but I don't think it would get you a seat in the house of lords, as the state would not recognise it.

Of course, you could always try a thoroughly laundered donation to the New Labour gang, and that would probably be very, very effective!  You could go and buy your coronet with confidence!

  4. You cannot buy a peerage in the UK, and it is illegal to sell or grant peerages or honours for cash. In anycase, only Her Majesty the Queen has the power to grant new peerages and honours, and most of these are advised by the British Government.

It is however, possible to purchase the title of "Lord of the Manor". This is an old title of nobility which showed you owned a piece of land in England. However the land and title were not linked, and holders could sell their title seperate from the actual land. Your title would then be: "John (or Jane) Smith, The Lord/Lady of the Manor of <Place name>".

There is a criminal investigation into Tony Blair and some members of his government, as it was suggested the previous government granted peerages in return for donations to the Labour Party. So, yes, you can "buy" a peerage, however it is illegal.
