Is it really possible to call a payphone?

yes it is, assuming you know the number. some even have the number on them. but i haven't seen a payphone in ages! lol

It depends on the particular phone and policy of the company.  In the past, most payphones were dialable, but in more recent years it has become increasingly common for incoming calls to be blocked.

Here in the U.K., BT payphones generally still accept incoming calls, and have the number marked on them.

Yes it is. I remember me and my friends used to call them and mess with people in malls. Some usually have the number on it.

Not with most payphones.  You'll see on the top "does not receive calls."  Older ones are more likely to be able to than newer ones.
