Question:

Is it really possible to still have a period while your pregnant?

A friend of mine told me that when her mom was pregnant with her she still had her period, which I find hard to believe. It may have been related to her drug and alcohol intake as well. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of that or experienced it before. Thanks!

  1. yes

  2. Its not a " period " its spotting .

  3. Yes its very possible, I worked with a woman who had her periods throughout and her son was born perfectly healthy, however her pregnancy was a high risk pregnancy and she was monitored very very closely, weekly scans, doctor appointments every other day etc etc.

  4. Well it didn't happen that way for me, but my sister & one of my friends still had at least one period after they found out they were pregnant.

  5. Its possible to 'bleed' for up to 3mnths in the pregnancy.

So its still thinning your uterus, but not for the egg to come down, its just doing it. SO really, it's not exactly your period, but yeah.

  6. It is possible..but if it does happen...you should always check with ur OBGYN to see if all is well. Also, you have to be extra careful with lifting heavy things etc..Bleeding is not a normal thing during pregnancy but it happens to a lot of pregnant women and they go on to have successful pregnancies. My advise is keep track of how heavy the bleeding is and if u sense any increase immediately call your doctor.
