Question:

Is it really "disrespectful"?

I heard on the radio earlier, that McCain's actions of helping Hurricane Gustav victims, are "disrespectful" to the victims. They stated that he's using them to pump his campaign. However, as I see it, its unfortunate that McCain is in a lose-lose situation. If he didn't respond like he has, people would say that he doesn't care and he's more concerned with the convention than the victims. If he helps, as he is, people are saying that he's being disrespectful. In my opinion, he's doing the right thing, American way, of helping others. Those who have something bad to say about someone helping someone else, should get off their asses and help!! What do you think?

  1. the AMERICAN way?

yeah ******* right, we americans don't help anybody but ourselves.

he didn't help in 05, so why now?

    he wants to be president

    duh

Obama is the way to go.

  2. It is disrespectful. McCain and Palin are suppose to go down to the storm ravaged area, what for? We all know it's for good publicity to counter the image of him eating cake with Bush during Hurricane Katrina.

  3. Neither candidate is acting disrespectful.  McCain and Obama are both asking their "base" to donate and help out the victims from Gustav.

  4. It's a little over the top. While i don't think it was his responsibility to do anything directly in 2005...he didn't. So what's the difference between now and then if not political?

McCain should just be happy that he lucked out so well by losing Bush from his speakers' agenda. What a break!

  5. He can thank Bush for that, actually...He will be judged by the current GOP. Which, by the way, he has supported the majority of the time!

  6. I agree with you, lulubird, it *is* a loose-loose situation, but he definetly did the right thing, and I positive he didn't do it to pump up his campaign.

  7. I didn't hear this, but if some of the people of New Orleans and the surrounding area are saying those things, Senator McCain's positions during Hurricane Katrina might be a part of their thinking.

I doubt that all the people there think that way and are grateful for the help that comes through.

  8. No. What would have been disrespectful would have been to go to the converntion and ignore them.

  9. I guess if he sat back and did nothing, like Obama, he would be considered a hero?

  10. I SAY THE DEMOCRAT n**i PARTY CAN KISS MY ASSSSSSS!!!!
